Procedure for obtaining an NHIF-funded manual wheelchair:

  1. If you are not applying in person, but through another person, a power of attorney for the LKK (Medical Advisory Committee) is required. The power of attorney does not need to be notarized.
  2. Medical protocol from the LKK for the specific illness.
  3. Within 7 days of the protocol's issuance, you will receive approval from the RHIF (Regional Health Insurance Fund) – a number and date – which will be communicated to you by phone via Viber / SMS.
  4. You inform us of the received RHIF approval and receive the allocated wheelchair.
  5. Wheelchairs are allocated for 4 years, after which you can reapply using the same procedure.
  6. Within the period of use, you are entitled to targeted assistance for repairs, tires, and bearings.
