Procedure for obtaining a free electric wheelchair:
If you are not applying in person, but through another person, a power of attorney is required for the LCC (Medical Advisory Committee), NHIF (National Health Insurance Fund), and the retail outlet where you will receive the allocated assistive devices. The power of attorney does not need to be notarized.
A certificate from the psychiatric clinic stating that the person is capable of operating a battery-powered wheelchair. You present this certificate to the LCC for the issuance of a medical protocol.
An electronic medical protocol, issued by the LCC (Medical Advisory Committee) according to the profile of the disease – neurological, orthopedic, surgical, or oncological.
Within 7 days of the protocol's issuance, you will receive approval from the NHIF – a number and date – which will be communicated to you by phone via Viber / SMS.
You notify us of the approval received from the Regional Health Insurance Fund and receive your allocated electric wheelchair. When receiving assistive devices through an authorized person, that person must present the power of attorney, the ID card of the eligible person, and their own ID card.
The electric wheelchair is granted for 6 years, after which you can reapply using the same procedure.
Within the 6-year operational period, you are entitled to several targeted aids for repairs, tires and bearings, and batteries.
Warranty and post-warranty service of the wheelchair is carried out in our own specialized service center.
