Detailed description

The Moretti Mopedia AU120 handy grip is designed to make picking up objects easier for people with reduced mobility of the hands and fingers. Its 67 cm length helps users reach objects without excessive bending or stretching.

The model features a rotating gripping head, a magnet for small metallic objects and a hook for reaching clothing or other suitable items. The grip is operated using the trigger positioned at the handle.

Main benefits

67 cm length Helps reach objects from the floor, shelves and other difficult-to-access places.
Rotating head The gripping head can be positioned horizontally, vertically or at intermediate angles.
Built-in magnet and hook The magnet attracts small metallic objects, while the hook helps reach clothing and other suitable items.
Non-slip grip The inner gripping surface is covered with non-slip rubber.

Rotating magnetic head

The gripping head can be positioned horizontally, vertically or at an intermediate angle relative to the handle. To adjust it, hold the handle with one hand and the gripping head with the other, then rotate it carefully into the required position.

The serrated end helps grip smaller objects. The small magnet can be used to attract lightweight metallic items, while the hook at the upper end can help reach clothing or other suitable objects.

Directions for use

  1. Hold the device securely by the handle.
  2. Carefully move the gripping head towards the object.
  3. Press the trigger at the handle to close the gripping jaws.
  4. Move the object smoothly to a stable and safe surface.
  5. Release the trigger to place the object down.

Materials and construction

The main tube is made from anodised aluminium. The inner gripping surface has a non-slip rubber covering, and the trigger is made from ABS. Moretti’s latest technical data sheet also specifies ABS as the handle material.

Safe-use instructions

  • Do not pick up objects weighing more than 2 kg.
  • Inspect the mechanical parts for wear or damage before every use.
  • Ensure that all components are correctly assembled.
  • Move objects smoothly and place them on a stable surface.
  • When rotating the head, ensure that the structure remains fully assembled.
  • Do not use the device for purposes other than gripping and moving suitable objects.
  • If unsure about correct use, consult a doctor, therapist or specialist retailer.
Important: The long shaft increases the effort required when lifting. Attempting to pick up an object weighing more than 2 kg may cause it to be dropped, damaged or result in injury.

Cleaning and maintenance

Clean the device with a damp cloth and neutral soap, then dry it thoroughly before use. If disinfection is required, use a standard neutral disinfectant cleaner.

Do not use acidic, alkaline or solvent-based products, including acetone and paint thinner. Store the handy grip away from direct light, heat sources and moisture.

Moretti recommends having the product’s suitability for continued use checked by the manufacturer or an authorised service centre at least once every two years. Only original spare parts should be used for repairs.
